Assistive Technology Volunteers Expand Assistive Technology Volunteers The Aspire Assistive Technology programme provides access to computers and tablets for people with a spinal cord injury whilst they are in rehabilitation in a Spinal Injury Centre. Our Assistive Technology volunteers work with patients in the centres. They provide training and support to patients as they learn how to access and use a computer following their injury. This often involves learning how to use a different type of mouse, or voice recognition tools. The training is delivered at the Spinal Injury Centres. These are located at Stanmore, Stoke Mandeville, Salisbury, Wakefield, Sheffield, Southport, Cardiff and Belfast. Volunteers will need to be able to travel to the centre and commit to at least 4 hours on one day per week (office hours only). Vacancies currently exist at the following centres: Stanmore and Stoke Mandeville. Training will be provided and travel expenses reimbursed.
