On Friday 7thOctober, a team of six cyclists from Coca Cola Enterprises set off from their Head Office in Uxbridge to cycle 201.2 miles to one of their bottling plants in Wakefield to raise money for Aspire.
The team consisted of Nick Perryman, Nick Brown, Pete Evans, Stuart Evans, Emma Browne and Ricky Valance with Alison Broughton and Deb Smith acting as the support crew.
The cyclists stopped off along the route to visit Sam, our tenant in our Aspire House in Wakefield, where they saw first-hand the work that Aspire does. There to meet them at the house was Paul Mountain, one of Aspire’s Independent Living Advisors, who works at the Pinderfield Spinal Injuries Centre where he meets with patients to offer them advice and signpost them to services.
The team arrived at the Wakefield bottling plant at midday on Monday 10thOctober and have raised almost £2,500 for Aspire. Nick Perryman said, “Despite the terror of the Nottingham ring road and gale force wind and rain on Monday, it was a lot of fun and well worthwhile. A big thank you to all that supported us with donations and with the organisation of the event.”
