Christine cycles to fundraising target
Summer is always a busy time for fundraising with numerous events taking place almost every weekend. The Aspire Summer Cycle on July 20th provided many great stories but none better than that of Christine Robinson, Services Co-ordinator here at Aspire.
Not a regular cyclist, when Christine heard about the ride she was unstoppable. Christine retrieved her daughter’s bike from the shed and could be seen regularly cycling to work, and home again, in preparation for her challenge.
Christine was just as dedicated when it came to fundraising, chasing friends, family and colleagues for sponsorship. With money still arriving Christine has already raised a fantastic £1,500 and we are currently trying to persuade her to tackle the longer ride option in 2009!
I thoroughly enjoyed the cycle and was determined to finish the ride before lunch. I hope to encourage more of my friends and family, especially my brother, to join me next year, but I think I will keep to the 30 miles!
