Taking the Plunge
September has again been a busy month for Aspire fundraisers, but when seven people decide to take the plunge and swim the Channel there can only be one winner of the Fundraiser of the Month title.
Aspire would like to recognise the amazing achievements of Andy, Brian, Eleanor, James, Kev, Rachel, Sophie – our Channel swim relay team who on the 8th September travelled to France the hard way in just over 14 hours, a truly fantastic team effort.
Many of the comments made on the night are un-repeatable, however some of the more printable ones include, ‘the Channel was far colder than I imagined it would be, but I still really enjoyed the challenge’ and ‘swimming in the sea at night made me think of the film Jaws, I just had to keep reminding myself we had been assured there were no sharks in the Channel.’
