Instructability Award Nomination

Fitness Instructor Aspire is proud to announce that our Instructability Course has been shortlisted under the category Project of the Year for the PRO-ACTIVE London Awards for Sport & Physical Activity.

The Awards, now in their fourth year, received a record 333 nominations and the award panel, which is made up of representatives from 15 different organisations, announced the short list on Wednesday 13th April.

Aspire Chief Executive Brian Carlin said, “We are delighted to have been short listed for the PRO-ACTIVE London Awards for Sport & Physical Activity as we are committed to providing fully inclusive and accessible leisure facilities for both disabled and non-disabled people. Following research undertaken by Aspire, we found that there was a definite need for better training around inclusive fitness. This led the charity to approach YMCAfit and Inclusive Fitness Initiative with a proposal for a programme to train disabled people as fitness instructors. The programme has been very successful and we hope to emerge as the winners of our category.”

All short listed nominees are invited to attend the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 5th May at City Hall.
