Monday 23rd September

Friday 16th September
In the October 2010 Spending Review, the government announced that it intended to remove the mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for people who lived in residential care in October 2012.

Monday 12th September
Today, Monday 12th September, saw the launch of the Aspire Channel Swim. Over 3,000 swimmers across the UK are aiming to swim the length of the English Channel ( 22 miles) in 12 weeks in their local pool to raise money for Aspire.

Thursday 1st September
We are delighted to announce that, after a long wait, the Penguins and Marlins are due to swim the Channel for Aspire at 1am on Friday 2nd September.

Monday 15th August
Instructability
, a partnership programme run by Aspire and YMCAfit to train disabled people as fitness instructors,has been granted the Inspire mark by the London 2012 Inspire programme.

Tuesday 9th August
At around 5.25 pm on Saturday, Adrian, Colin, Kate, Meg, Neil and Russell, better known as The Aspire Sharks, successfully completed their 13h 25m crossing of the English Channel, the first of five Aspire teams attempting to swim The Channel this summer.

Thursday 3rd August
You may have seen news coverage of the headline changes in the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill to do with sentencing and minimum jail terms for people found guilty of committing certain crimes. Part two of this bill looks into civil litigation and Conditional Fee Arrangements (CFA) known more commonly as ‘No Win No Fee’.

A few weeks ago, four members of staff from the Aspire office headed down to Crawley to build flat-pack furniture and get everything ready in our new property.

Tuesday 19th July
Monday 18th July saw Aspire’s biggest ever Corporate Golf Day with 16 teams enjoying a fantastic round of golf at Porters Park in Radlett, Hertfordshire.
