Nicola Naunton was awarded a £2,000 donation from Lloyd’s Charities Trust in recognition of her fundraising for her Aspire Relay Channel Swim.

Nicola was one of thirty two winners who were presented with donations of £2,000 each from Lloyd’s Charities Trust, the grant-making charity of the Lloyd’s market. She was recognised for her incredible fundraising efforts after raising nearly £6,000 for Aspire.

Last year she swam the English Channel as part of a six-person relay team and the Solent between the Isle of Wight and the mainland. Nicola said: “It was terrific to be able to share this evening with my mum, who helped enormously with my fundraising efforts and my chosen charity, Aspire. After all, this is their award. With our support, they will be able to provide grants for two made to measure wheelchairs, for individuals who have sustained a life changing spinal cord injury. This helps to give them back their independence, to enable them to rebuild their life. I am delighted to have taken part in the Lloyd’s Market Charity Awards, on their behalf.”

Challenge Events Manager, Andrew Ogierman, explained how delighted he was to be a part of the evening in support of Nicola. He said: “It was a pleasure to see Nicola receive her award in the prestigious surroundings of Lloyds of London. The generous donation from Lloyds really was the icing on the cake for someone who had been such a dedicated fundraiser throughout the year.”
