As part of Aspire’s partnership with Penguin Random House UK for the release of Jacqueline Wilson's book Katy, a sponsored read has been launched to raise funds for Aspire.

Throughout September, schools are being encouraged to ask their students to commit to reading a list of books.  All they need to do is choose what books they are going to read, ask people to sponsor them and get reading!  The student that raises the most funds for Aspire by the end of the year will win a bundle of 50 books from Penguin Random House Children’s for their class or library.

Brian Carlin, Aspire CEO, comments: “We are delighted that Penguin Random House UK is encouraging young people to read to raise funds for Aspire.  Every eight hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury; it can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life.  We rely on the enormous generosity of our friends and supporters to enable us to continue to support people from injury to independence through our services.”
