On Saturday 30th September, over 300 swimmers (the most we've ever had!) dived into the darkness at Oxford Wakeboard & Ski Club, raising £7,500 (including registration fees) to help support people with spinal cord injuries.

Swimming in the pitch black with the only light coming from glowsticks on their heads, the swimmers braved the cold, dark and rain to complete a wetsuit optional swim of 750m, 1,500m or 5k.

Congratulations to everyone who took part.  Despite the cold, this is a unique open water swim which many participants return to do each year and often swim in addition to other Aspire swims.  Comments received about this year's event include:

“Thank you so so much for hosting such a lovely event last night. It was truly amazing to swim in the dark and I had a lot of fun. I really hope there is another one next year, it really was fantastic!”

“Great fun last night at the lake”

“Thanks for a great swim tonight.. really enjoyed it!”
