Having had to miss a year due to the pandemic, we were delighted to be able to hold our Swim Celebration Dinner on Saturday 27th November, to celebrate the open water swimming achievements of our 2020 and 2021 swimmers, who have raised thousands of pounds to support people with Spinal Cord Injury.  100 swimmers attended to meet up with their teams, enjoy a drinks reception, delicious three course dinner and to receive their awards.

In 2020, against all odds contending with the pandemic we saw 11 relay teams successfully swim the English Channel and 29 people swam the Solent to the Isle of Wight.  In 2021 we had 9 relay Channel teams, 62 people swam the Solent, and many others, who swam Loch Lomond, Loch Ness, the River Arun, Scilly Isles, the Serpentine, from Jersey to France and our new Sealand Swim.

Andrew Ogierman, Aspire Events Manager, says, “Aspire would like to say a massive thank you to all of our open water swimmers over the past two years, who persevered with their training and took on their swims and fundraised despite the many challenges of Covid. Also a big thank you to our fantastic Boat Leaders who gave up their time to look after our relay Channel swim teams.  We are now looking forward to a fantastic year of open water swimming in 2022.”
