Aspire’s Welfare Benefits Advice service has seen such high levels of demand that we have recently brought in a new member of the team.

Last year, the Service supported 181 people, helping them claim in excess of £85,000 worth of benefits that they were entitled to but weren’t receiving.  That was a fantastic achievement, but at times we had so many cases on the go that people had to wait for us to be able to help them.  With the forthcoming changes to the benefits system, we don’t see that problem going away and so Mohini Khanna has joined us as our new Welfare Benefits Officer.  Not only will we now be able to support even more people, we’ll be cutting down on the time they wait for that help too.

Our Welfare Benefits Advice service can help with everything from general benefits queries to the preparation of evidence and advocacy at appeal.  We can also now take on tax related issues with HMRC, negotiating with them on your behalf or helping with the self-assessment forms.  In the last week we have been able to have an incorrect £5,000 tax demand written off for one individual who had been struggling to resolve an issue with HMRC dating back to 2007.

If you need help or advice with your welfare benefits or tax issues, you can contact the team on 020 8420 6711 or [email protected].
