2.3 Miles a day, 12 Stages, 12 Weeks, 192 Miles... Stay Fit, Stay focused, Make every step count!

During these unprecedented times during the COVID-19 pandemic we are all being encouraged to stay at home and only go outside for essential tasks but to also take some exercise. Many of us are out walking every day but staying motivated to get out there day after day can be difficult.

Aspire has created a fantastic new virtual challenge during these ‘lockdown’ times. Challenge yourself, your family and friends to walk 192 miles on a virtual Coast to Coast Challenge. Take on the Challenge over 12 weeks by walking, cycling, running or handcycling wherever you can, whenever you want and walk with purpose and meaning.

The Challenge

The Challenge is to walk a minimum of 2.3 miles each day over twelve weeks and cover the original route first described by Wainwright (1973) from St Bees Head to Robin’s Hood Bay covering a total of 192 miles! We’ve added a little mile here and there to even out the twelve stages of the journey. You can walk, push, cycle or run the challenge. As a couple, as a family or with friends you can take the challenge on as a team so that everyone’s steps count.

Why take part?

We will all look back at this time in our history and talk about what we did to support society through the crisis. This is your opportunity to set yourself a goal, or for your family, and make every single step count, every day you get out to walk. So sign up today and make your walk today and into the future mean something and support Aspire so they can continue to provide vital services for people paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury.
