Get involved Swimming Solent Swim 2024 Join us for one of our most popular open water swims across the Solent, the stretch of water that separates mainland England from the Isle of Wight. I'd like to swim the Solent with Aspire Starting in Stokes Bay, you will swim two and a half to three miles (depending on tides) across the Solent to reach Ryde Sands on the Isle of Wight. You’ll be guided by rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) and kayaks the whole way to ensure a safe crossing, so there will be help and support on hand at all times, should you need it. We then bring you back by boat. Wetsuits are optional. 2024 dates: 28th July – FULL 10th August: Meet 06.00 - swim speeds of 40 to 45 minute miles 14th August: Meet 09:00 - swim speeds of 40 to 45 minute miles 14th September: Meet 12.00 - swim speeds of 24 to 28 minute miles OR 30 to 35 minute miles 15th September: Meet 12.30 - swim speeds of 35 to 39 minute miles (40 to 45 minute miles is FULL) A deposit with minimum sponsorship will be required to take part.
