Independent Living Advisor - Stoke Mandeville

Part Time, 16 hours per week

We are looking for someone to fulfil the role of Independent Living Advisor (ILA) based at the Spinal Injuries Unit at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville.  The role involves making personal contact with patients, offering them appropriate advice and supporting activities that encourage independence and promote Aspires services, and to build links with the Centre’s staff.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, well organised and comfortable working on your own initiative.  In addition to visiting the Centre once a week, you will be expected to complete reports and additional administrative tasks. Ongoing training and support will be provided.

Suitable candidates for the role will be spinally injured themselves and be able to provide first-hand peer support to patients.

This job is available under Supported Permitted Work rules and the successful candidate will be required to complete a DBS check.

This role is part time, 16 hours per week.

Closing date: Friday 31st May 2024.  Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 3rd June via Teams

Salary: £10,962.52
