The 2015 Assistive Technology Training Conference took place on the 27^th and 28^th October at the accessible Portland College in Mansfield.  This year’s conference was attended by 22 Occupational Therapists and volunteers from Spinal Injury Centres, general hospitals and specialist disability centres across the UK. 

Participants at the two day training event were able to attend hands-on workshops and get to grips with a range of assistive technology including Dragon speech recognition software, Eye Tracking Systems, alternative mice, as well as exploring switch control access for tablets and phones.  Presentations were also given by industry specialists on new technologies such as Grid 3 and Kinesic Mouse - Movement Detection software.  Health professionals and the Aspire Assistive Technology volunteers also shared their learning experiences of working with patients. 

One Occupational Therapist said: "An excellent conference.  I learnt so much, but I realise how much more there is to learn!  Inspired to go back and see how assistive technology can be used and develop its use."
