This will be my first marathon.  I used to play football at a semi-professional level for a few years, but I’ve never run a long distance.  My training for the London Marathon has been the furthest I’ve ever run.

I have always wanted to run the London Marathon for charity, but I’ve never had a charity close to me until Ethan, one of my best mates, was paralysed by a spinal cord injury in 2023.

I was the one with him the night the accident happened, and I carried him out of the water.  It’s been tough to see him have such a life changing accident at the age of 22. I’ve seen firsthand how a serious injury can affect someone, as well as their family and friends. Ethan has raised a good amount of money through an Aspire Your Fund, and now I want to raise money for people who don’t have the amount of support that my mate has.

My training is going well but it is tough running such long distances by yourself.  I have currently raised just over £1,000 and I have organised a bottomless brunch at my local pub to help out with my fundraising.

It will be amazing to be involved in such a fantastic event, and to say I’ve ran the London Marathon. I can say that for the rest of my life.
