My dad found out about the Aspire Channel Swim on Facebook.  I signed up because despite being keen, I had struggled to find a swim that I could do because I’m 12.

I swim once a week for team Bath and go lane swimming with my dad at Dragonfly Leisure in Midsomer Norton.  I enjoy swimming because it helps me relax and I feel better once I have done a swim. I plan to swim 22 miles.  It should take me around 24 hours in total although I am hoping the challenge will help me increase my pace.

I enjoy fundraising and have done it before for a Majorettes troop that I am a member of. We have performed at carnivals and other events and I even made some tiles which I sold to raise some money for them.

I have already raised £100 for my swim thanks to my very loving, supportive and generous family.  So far, I have only asked for sponsorship through my family group chat but I will ask my parents to post about what I’m doing on social media too.

I don’t know anyone with a spinal cord injury, but I have a friend who has scoliosis.

It’s important to me to do what I can to help improve someone else's quality of life and I hope to inspire people to raise more money to support people with spinal injuries.
