The staff at Aspire have successfully completed a 24 hour swim in aid of the charity.  Over 35 members of staff and customers swam in pairs from 9am on Sunday 7^th September to 9am on Monday 8^th September.  They swam a total of 4,296 lengths of the pool at the Aspire National Training Centre, a distance of 67 miles. Many staff members who weren’t swimming themselves volunteered to sit by the pool to count the number of lengths swum by each swimmer.  So far the event has raised £456.50 for Aspire.

The event marks the start of this year’s Aspire Channel Swim which challenges people to swim the length of the English Channel – 22 miles – in their local swimming pool.  In 24 hours the Aspire Staff swam the distance of the English Channel three times! 

Over 2,600 people have so far signed up to take part in the Aspire Channel Swim, and it’s not too late to sign up at www.aspirechannelswim.co.uk.
