Aspire is delighted to have been chosen by Club Captain Michael Gibson as Porters Park Golf Club’s Charity of the Year and on Saturday 27th June they held their Captain’s Charity Day, raising £18,145.

159 golfers took part in a fabulous day of golf with a special treat at the 10th tee where they were greeted by drinks and a Mediterranean style buffet complete with a leg of Serrano ham!  Lunch was preceded by an auction which included fantastic prizes such as signed Football and Rugby shirts, fourballs at other Golf Clubs and even a coveted parking space at the Club.  At the end of the day, presentations were made for amongst other categories the best score and winning team before guests enjoyed a drinks reception, buffet and a live band.

Hannah Wyatt, Aspire’s Fundraising Manager, said:

We are so grateful to Michael Gibson for choosing to support Aspire as his Charity of the Year during his tenure as Captain.  It was a fabulous day and it was lovely to see some familiar faces. The support from the whole club was amazing and contributed to a huge total of over £18,000 raised for Aspire.

If your Golf Club chooses a Charity of the Year, we would be so grateful if you could nominate Aspire.  Alternatively, perhaps you could hold a golf day in aid of Aspire?  Please get in touch with [email protected] to discuss.
