ImPRESS: Improving Pelvic Rehabilitation using Epidural Stimulation after SCI What is the study? RNOH and UCL are trialling epidural spinal cord stimulation (eSCS) for bladder and bowel function in people with a spinal cord injury. What will I have to do? The study consists of two Phases: Phase I involves the implantation of eSCS, where electrodes will be inserted close to the spinal cord. We will test if you respond to eSCS and then programme the device during bladder and bowel tests. During Phase II you will be trained to use eSCS at home with pelvic floor muscle training for 12 weeks, and we will assess your bladder and bowel function. Am I eligible to take part? You must be 18 years old or over, have a spinal cord injury, and have bladder over activity to take part. Further criteria to take part will be discussed with you in detail. Who do I contact? If you are interested in participating or receiving more information, please visit our website to register for the trial or contact our research team on 020 3947 0291 or email [email protected] Download the poster Register your interest Research opportunities How we help Manage Cookie Preferences
