Aspire has enjoyed another fantastic season of open water swimming this year.   We have seen 121 people take on open water swims, from the River Arun and Solent to relay teams crossing the English Channel and Loch Ness.  So far they have raised over £220,000 to help people with Spinal Cord Injury.

 

54 people successfully crossed the Solent, raising over £80,000, while 13 people swum the beautiful River Arun swim had Raising just over £5,000. With seven boats this year, we saw 42 swimmers complete a Relay Channel Swim, raising approximately £115,000.  And continuing our attempts to find Nessie, two teams completed a relay swim along Loch Ness raising almost £20,000.

 

Belinda, part of the Aspire Frogfish Relay Channel Swim team, said, “Without the help of the wonderful people at Aspire, I would not have made it to France with my team.  The kindness and support shown to me was incredible.  If this is in any way indicative of the support that Aspire provides to those with spinal injuries then this is a truly special and unique charity, one which will now always remain close to my heart.”
