I am running the London Marathon because I want to beat my previous time of 4 hours 25 minutes, which I ran in 2011.  I ran a lot as a teenager, for my school/club, for the local county and in national cross country championships for 11-16 year olds.  In 2015 I took on RideLondon and cycled 100 miles, which I found enjoyable but tough, but I was always a runner first.

I’m running the London Marathon for Aspire because I have worked there for 8½ years and see the amazing work that we do.  To help out anyone with a spinal cord injury is a fantastic thing to do, to help those people to live independently.

To boost my fundraising I’m planning a staff and family fun swim session and maybe a running club too!

My training is going well, I’m feeling good despite the hot weather.  I can’t wait for the London Marathon, it’s so much fun and if I beat my previous time, I’ll be overjoyed!  Training for and running a marathon is hard work, but the experience and joy you get from finishing is out of this world. I recommend anyone to run the London Marathon for Aspire, even a novice runner can achieve it.
