After months of training and fundraising, our 17 Aspire runners completed the London Marathon on 23rd April and have raised over £40,000 so far.

Our top fundraiser Hannah Jones raised over £4,000 after being asked to run for Aspire by her cousin Ben. Ben sustained a spinal cord injury whilst competing as a semi-professional cyclist. He fell off his bike and was paralysed from the rib down. During his stay at Stoke Mandeville Spinal Centre Ben had been recommended to Aspire for help getting back to living independently. Hannah says: “It was from there he said to me ‘I’d like you to raise money for them because they are helping people in my situation’. Ben is in a fortunate situation where he has a great network around him of family and friends but he said "Aspire does a lot for people who don’t necessarily have the best support’ and that’s when he asked if I would run for Aspire.” Read more about Hannah’s reason to run here.
