Aspire celebrates its 2024 swimmers On Saturday 23rd November, Aspire held its annual Swim Dinner to celebrate the outstanding swimming and fundraising achievements of this year’s open water swimmers. This year we had nine successful Relay Channel crossings, one successful Solo Channel swim, 52 Solent swimmers, 4 Sealand swimmers as well as the first ever person to swim from the Red Sands Forts to the Kent coast. Other swimmers took on the River Arun, the Scilly Swim Challenge and Swim Serpentine. In total our incredible 2024 swimmers raised over £320,000 to support people with spinal cord injuries. The event was held at the Village Hotel Watford and was attended by 75 guests, including many of this year’s swimmers, our boat leaders and other representatives from the swimming community. Following a welcome drink guests enjoyed a three course meal and presentation of awards for their swimming achievements. The guest speaker was Jessica Hepburn, who gave an inspiring talk about why she took on her Sea, Street, Summit Challenge and became an adventure activist. Photos by Ruby Davidson Photography.
